VEGAN PIG

vpig2_edited.jpg

This is a grower, not a show-er. Six years ago, we had an idea to start our very own vegan food business as we could see the vegan food boom on the horizon. So we took our silly little freelance earnings and used them to pay food scientists to develop the world’s first ever vegan pork scratching. We crowdfunded the project raising nearly £10k to develop the project further, with coverage in all the major newspapers and a grilling from Piers Morgan on GMB. After the success of the Kickstarter, we spent more hours than we care to remember in a pub kitchen in South London cooking, weighing and sealing our scratchings.

In March 2020, we were set to trial Vegan Pig in every UK BrewDog but then, your friend and mine, Covid-19 rocked up and knocked everything on the head. Since then, we’ve looked to improve the recipe and cut costs to make Vegan Pig a sustainable business, as well as moving production into a fully automated factory setting. And with the help of Heather Mills we’re expected to be launching Vegan Pig properly in the Autumn of 2023.
